Think about it.
- Group of famous scientists.
- Two main guys are friends and
sometimes rivals.
- The eccentric stodgy type is always
right.
- You got the hot girl. (Who just had a
kid.)
- You have the young attractive
hotheaded guy.
- They've occasionally had substitutes
for when someone's away. (Like the FF did with She-Hulk or Crystal.)
- You have robots.
- You have explosions.
- There's have a headquarters with a
codename.
- Gawd, Adam's a mere facial scarring
away from being an arch-nemesis.
There's not much more of a stretch
needed. They just need mole men and planet eaters.
That said, it gets more disturbing when
you think about the other Discovery Channel guys. Is Mike Rowe really
doing all these strange jobs, or is he training to be Batman? There's
the show 'Through the Wormhole' that spends the episode telling us
scientific theories that Reed Richards told us in the 70s. (Fact it's
also narrated by Morgan Freeman, who I'm pretty sure is some higher
deity, posing as a human.) Stormchasers has their Tornado Intercept
Vehicles, which look like damned X-Force vehicles. Like Junk Raiders
aren't just looking to build a suit of armor? And even though it's on
SyFy now, it started on Discovery... Ghost Hunters is practically
your typical supernatural monster fighting team. And just try and
tell me Survivorman isn't a codename for a Captain America archetype.
And I'm sure if I try hard enough, I
could make an 'Atlantis/Captain Phil' connection too.
